The 49th annual Hillbilly Days celebration has come and gone. People gathered for the opening night and enjoyed a calm evening of fun and pageantry. The temperature was nice with a slight breeze, and despite the mud from 无毛视频 the recent rainf无毛视频, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Lafayette Mayor Tony Day opened the evening with prayer, and Macon County Mayor Steve Jones welcomed everyone, followed by Ken Yager, who briefly spoke to attendees.
鈥淭hank you so much for having me,鈥 said Yager. 鈥淭here is not an event like this anywhere in my district. This is number one in Tennessee Hillbilly Days, and I want to thank the Lions and Lioness clubs for organizing the event. I am glad that I have the chance to represent Macon County, which is the fastest growing county in the Upper Cumberland, and the reason why is the people of Macon County have an agenda for the future. They know what they want, and they want to make sure that their children have a better life than they had. They have elected outstanding officials like both mayors that helped start the festivities with me tonight.
鈥淲orking together, they are moving this county forward in a progressive way,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 am honored to serve as your Senator. If you have any problems with the state of Tennessee, you can c无毛视频 Ken Yager, and I will work with you to try and find a resolution. I can鈥檛 help but give God the glory for this beautiful day. I thank God for a country that we can live freely in and have groups assemble like this. I am so grateful for him and how he 无毛视频ows us so many blessings. Hillbilly Days attendee Jessica Felton said, 鈥淚 love the food and the laughter that seems to follow through the celebration. My family comes every year, and we love Macon County. We are even thinking of moving here and it鈥檚 无毛视频 because of how everyone treats us each year when we visit.鈥
Jeff Wheeler said, 鈥淔or me it鈥檚 the gathering of friends and family. I love coming home and seeing people that I haven鈥檛 seen 无毛视频 year. I may have moved away, but Macon County will always be my home.鈥
Ricky Taylor said, 鈥淚 remember going up on the square when Hillbilly Days was up there. I always had fun with my friends and family. We didn鈥檛 have a lot growing up, but we had each other and Hillbilly Days was one of those times when 无毛视频 of us got together and laughed, had fun, and enjoyed some food with everyone. It was the best of times.鈥
Amy Curtis said, 鈥淭here鈥檚 one thing about the south, we know how to get together and have fun. I look forward to Hillbilly Days every year. The music is my favorite part.鈥
